Glowing stars on the ceiling

We have both changed
I have grown and your message is ever flowing
though our fire is as ferocious as always

I have been trying to tell you
you were never haunted and I was never a ghost
and the moon is actually not blue

Please remember who we were
because we both knew who we already are
and every different version we will be

Looking out our window I recognize
every star tree tile building and scratch
Time has not been patient, just like me

It makes me giggle, what we needed
You had to let go of everything big and small
but I learned to hold on for a bit more every time

There’s nothing more to do than that
The ever flowing stream of staying and leaving
Breathe in, remember, then breathe out

As inevitable as it is, it’s a must
I’ll be here when you call and I’ll go when you don’t
My feet forever bound to your wooden floor

Yellow spotted paint, huge backyard tree
Sirius Spica Antares and the sound of wind
witnessing, teaching me
that staying the same is equal to transforming.
