Hurricane

What’s it like living life without me?
I really wish for you it’s better
because the pictures and the math don’t really do justice for the dreams I dreamed about you glowing

Is she really all you’ve ever wanted?
Or is she just better at holding back your tears
I couldn’t give you what you needed but it took a lot of long lonely nights for me to notice

I couldn’t give you what you wanted
because I’ve never been dirt or water or a color or a sun ray
And what I needed I was already keeping at your arm’s length because I knew you’d try to ravenously steal it

What’s it like living life without you?
Don’t answer me yet, I can feel you are cold
The ocean inside you has drifted away from its shore

Oh, it’s breathtaking, really
Because I walked your storms and drizzles and it may be silly
but the last thing they deserved was for you to tame them

I wish you’ll find a way for that unleashable disaster
to let it be monstruous and unapologetically wrecked
But above all I wish for it to show you how that’s all you ever needed
